This is nice, but....
In LaTeX, the optional argument to sectioning commands goes into the TOC
and generally, I would think, will be a more concise form of the title that
makes sense `in context' (ie. in sequence w/ other section headings).

On the other hand, I find that the <TITLE> wants to be a less concise form of
the title, or at least text that makes some sense completely OUT of context.

For all that complaining, I have no better suggestion though...
Other than the various custom_xxx_hooks, which I appreciate.
