Yep. My mistake.
I'd already advised John to do precisely this.

Now I've fixed both latex2html.config and install-test to work
correctly both with and with-out a value for $PERL .
I've tested all the main branches of the install-test script, as being
valid Perl, using my Unix platform.
Whether it works correctly on the intended platforms is not 100% certain,
but there are no significant differences from code that is known to be OK.

Hasn't been committed to Darmstadt yet.
When I do that it will become beta8 (Daniel pinched beta7 ;-)
with Daniel's changes incorporated also, + some subtle fixes.

Hopefully *this* will become the v98.2 release.

It includes:

        1. Babel multi-lingual support for 30+ languages/dialects.
        2. improvements for ITRANS (5.2) and Indica pre-processors,
                for Indic languages;
        3. Chemical Symbols: XyM-TeX

and things like:

        a. a switch for having all tag/attribute names in lower-case
        b. support for the LANG attribute with HTML 4.0
        c. fixed errors in Unicode support
        d. ``curly quotes'' with HTML 4.0 or Unicode extension
        e. \lq ... \rq and \lq\lq .... \rq\rq give <Q>...</Q>

and many more little things and fixes.

All the best,

        Ross
