As I have said and written several times, it is up to the authors to
tell the editors of scientific and other journals that LaTeX=latex2e.
After all they are selling "our" articles and making money out of our
work. Also, printing in a magazine is one thing, then asking for support
of all the ideosyncracies of latex2.09 (and its styles) with latex2html
is another. I think the main point of this (and many previous) discussions
is that latexhtml and tex are two different things, and that the
statement: "it works in tex, so it _must_ work in latex2html" has no
foundation, apart from the goodwill of Ross (and others) to spend time
on such matters when they could be working on implementing support for
other more generally useful and forward-looking features, such as CSS
support or MathML translations.
