I am sorry if this is a repeat. I thought I sent it a few days ago but
never received a copy via the list.
Are there any thoughts on what might cause figure numbers to be
sometimes omitted from their captions? In my case I have 5 figures on
one page. All references to the figures in the text show up
correctly. But, only one (the 3rd) has a caption with a number.

The rest say
Figure: caption text
Everything else about the figures seems correct.
I using 98.2 beta 6 version. And I am a novice at using latex2html.
Thanks for any suggestions.
