*** ANNOUNCEMENT ***

The developer's repository has been updated with the latest version
of LaTeX2HTML.

 1.  the beta8 version (formerly l2h-devel.tar.gz)  is available by name;
this contains bug fixes, reported since beta6
it hasn't changed since September 24th

 2. l2h-devel .tar.gz now contains more recent minor fixes...
... and full support for *frames* .

Examples of the use of frames can be seen at:

        http://www-texdev.mpce.mq.edu.au/l2h/docs/manual/
        http://www-texdev.mpce.mq.edu.au/GeoMath/GeoMath/
        http://www-texdev.mpce.mq.edu.au/TURNER/report/

Up to 3 different views of the same document are supported:
Click on the Contents/Index/Refresh buttons to switch views.

Use the extension mechanism to load ../versions/frame.pl
e.g.

 latex2html -html_version 4.0,frame,math ..... <file>.tex
                             ^^^^^^

It'll work with HTML 3.2 as well.

As yet the manual (see URL above) uses frames,
but does not describe their use. However it *does*
contain all the new variable-names, in the Glossary listing.

I'll work on those new manual pages as first priority.
When ready --- early next week, hopefully ---
an official release can be made.

Any minor errors reported before then can be fixed.
(Hopefully there won't be any, since there has been extensive
testing in getting the above sites to work properly...
... but doubtless something will crop up.)

Thanks to everyone who has reported bugs or offerred suggestions
for improvements.

Enjoy,

        Ross Moore
