OK, thanks Andreas and Steffen.
I've reverted the offending lines.
The &cleanup subroutine needs to be modified also,
else the (large) .ppm files may not be deleted after use.
Other changes between v1.47 and v1.48 were mainly cosmetic,
except for some fixes to processing multiple files in a single
call to pstoimg .
All of pstoimg, pstoimg_nopipes and ps2img-n (DOS version)
are now edited to remove the extra $TMP instances.
The repository should be updated by Monday morning (European time).
There must be a situation where the current strategy is wrong;
perhaps using pstoimg standalone, to convert multiple files ??
Please report any further problems.
