Greetings,
Has anyone else received the
*** LaTeX produced no output ***
*** no new images can be created
*** Examine the images.log file.
error message from LaTeX when using the graphics package with
LaTeX2HTML? For example, my LaTeX2e document begins with:
\documentclass[dvips]{article}
\usepackage{graphics,html}
If I remove html from usepackage, everything works and the PostScript
graphics files are converted to GIF files.
Please note that I'm new to using LaTeX2HTML. I'm writing
documentation that is to be printed and is also to appear on a web
page. I'd like the web page to contain links from certain words in
the document to another web page which is a glossary. I'd like to be
able to do this without having to type in the complete URL for each
linked word.
Short of modifying the source code (which I'll do if necessary), is
there a way to store some sort of definitions for the URL up to the
'#', so that I can just use something like \verb[pdp1145] in the LaTeX
document, which corresponts to a <a name="pdp1145"> tag in the HTML?
I'm trying to cut down on typing. :-) The other solution that I can
think of is just to hack my Emacs startup file to recognise a command
to insert the URL for me. I don't want the URL to appear in the
document, I just the word used as a link.
Since this is being read by LaTeX users, can anyone kindly suggest
some advice for convincing a supervisor that TeX/LaTeX should be used
for the creation of documentation instead of Micro$oft Word (bletch!)?
For the past several years, I've done just about all of my writing
using Emacs, TeX/LaTeX, Lout, nroff, etc. and my one day experience of
using that Micro$oft product was not exactly pleasant. I'm told that
TeX/LaTeX is obsolete and that no one uses it anymore, and that it
will be too difficult for anyone else to make any changes to what I
write. In addition, I'm told that the DVI and PostScript files
generated by TeX and dvips are about obsolete as well. Any help with
this would be greatly appreciated.
