Currently *all* images get BORDER="0" inserted anyway.
This is because alignments can be worked out reliably.

Alternatively, no-one has studied when it would be good to have
non-zero borders, and adjusted the code to allow it. ;-)

The warning message arises as follows.

using LaTeX source:

\HTMLset{VERBOSITY}{9}
\htmladdimg[BORDER="0"]{../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg}
\HTMLset{VERBOSITY}{1}

then among the log-messages we see:

.htmladdimg
IN:
\htmladdimg[BORDER=;SPMquot;0;SPMquot;]<#12#>../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg<#12#>
\HTMLset<#13#>VERBOSITY<#13#><#14#>1<#14#>

<P>

embedding ../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg for  externalBORDER="0"
 *** Warning: BORDER= is an invalid value in the <IMG> tag

->

.HTMLset
IN: <IMG
 ALIGN="BOTTOM" BORDER="0" SRC="../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg"
 ALT="scott.jpg">
\HTMLset<#13#>VERBOSITY<#13#><#14#>1<#14#>

The quotes " have been converted and cause the BORDER=
to be separated from the value 0 .

So leave out the quotes:

.htmladdimg
IN:
\htmladdimg[BORDER=0]<#12#>../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg<#12#>
\HTMLset<#13#>VERBOSITY<#13#><#14#>1<#14#>

<P>

embedding ../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg for  externalBORDER=0
BORDER=0
->

.HTMLset
IN: <IMG
 ALIGN="BOTTOM" BORDER="0" BORDER="0" SRC="../../GeoMath/logos/scott.jpg"
 ALT="scott.jpg">
\HTMLset<#13#>VERBOSITY<#13#><#14#>1<#14#>

Now we get no warnings, but the BORDER attribute is given twice.
*and* the "s have been put in automatically!
(perhaps unnecessarily ;-] )

There is a simple edit in latex2html to prevent the double
attribute, so I'll do it right away!

Thanks for finding this glitch.

BTW, I'm sending this to the whole list,
since it shows the usefulness of  \HTMLset{VERBOSITY}{<num>}
to get some details about what is happening internally,
during translation.
(Someone asked about $VERBOSITY a few weeks ago, I recall.)
