Hello. I am translating to HTML a document which contains a
couple of scanned pictures. pstoimg seems to be generating images
with 8 bit depth only. Is there any way to force it to use more
colors externally (i.e., without fiddling around with latex2html and
ps2img)? The results are really dissappointing with only 8 bits, and
I would like to say (proudly) "Generated using LaTeX2HTML". I tried
setting the DEPTH environment variable to no avail.

(the one which comes with RedHat 7.3; also tried latex2html 2002-2-1
with the same results).
