Hi again, I wonder if this (or a better written version) might be an appropriate addition.
Under the section "Footnotes", subsection "Footnote parameters": \footnoterule A rule separating the main text on a page from the page's footnotes. Default dimensions: 0.4pt thick (or wide), and 0.4\columnwidth long in the article, report, book and letter document classes. The footnoterule does not appear in the slides class.
