1) That's not correct.  @dmn is a thinspace.  It should be used with
dimension units like "in", not words like "inches".  Those should have a
full word space before.

2) Looking at it now, I don't think it's worth the complication of using
@dmn at all in this manual.  With abbreviations, better to just leave no
space, like "400pt".  -k
