One data point. Ubuntu is currently shipping lazr.restfulclient with its tests disabled, becuase its testsuite requires lazr.restful, and as you hint elsewhere in your mail the latter has a rather large dependency list. This isn't ideal, and I would like to correct it in future releases, but the overhead of packagin all those extra dependencies didn't seem worth it.
