I was curious for a point of reference, so I ran Jono's script against some other sites for the sake of comparison. I had an average of 2.53 seconds on the same page Jono tested. So forgetting variations and looking just at averages, I saw the following numbers from 40 hits against each page: Aver. time -- Page --------------------------- 1.65 -- Bug from Mozilla Bugzilla, https 1.32 -- Digg home page, http 0.90 -- my personal blog, http 0.67 -- Slashdot, http 0.35 -- Flickr image, http 0.12 -- Google home page, http 2.53 -- LP bug page I thought this was interesting as an un-metric comparison, so I thought it worth sharing.
