I'm sorry you had to remove this feature. I can tell it hurt. I think messages queues would be a good solution, but not necessarily the only possible solution. We could potentially launch subprocesses or threads to handle the event propagation. Perhaps we could also economize by having an event that notifies that many bugs have been modified, so that we can do our event handling in batches.
