Maris and Ursula will be sending a bunch of info to the list today / tomorrow about a new QA process.
When they do - please read it! I'm very excited by the potential it will bring to get stuff out to users a lot more quickly. That said, right now we're still missing many parts of 'release features when they are ready', but - we can start doing more CP's to production. However, to start getting some benefits immediately, I'll happily do the legwork to take QA'd stuff and get it fully deployed until we can fully remove edge. The legwork is pretty simple - I'll take the report, check that all the QA'd patches make sense to me, and generate a CP to production-devel of them. If theres stuff that doesn't obviously make sense to deploy directly to edge, I'll ping the author. We can, I think, in *this cycle* have edge and production code *for the appservers* be nearly identical. That itself will have significant benefits to us: - we'll have less OOPS on production - we'll have less/no skew with production with any use-of-data patterns. - the release at the end of the month will introduce less new code, so we'll have less fallout and issues. -Rob _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-dev Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
