Well, after all that, some key assistance from Colin Watson and liberal
application of keyboard to forehead, I managed to remove the roadblock and get
the PPA working. I'm not ready to declare victory yet, since there are still
two packages from Francis's list that are failing to build, but I'm much more
optimistic today than I was yesterday.

Tomorrow, I'll look into these two build failures and send an update when
those are fixed. Then it would be great if someone could try to build
Launchpad on Lucid against this PPA and see if it works with Python 2.7. You
should be able to add the PPA with:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pythoneers/lts
I'll also be interested to know if there are any packages missing.
