martin.g.h.krueger's comment about signing the code of conduct might be better served in its own bug report. However, I think Martin's intention was to illustrate a situation where if the help for launchpad were easier to find, he might not be having so much trouble. My own situation involves the meaning of the various status values in a bug report (New, Confirmed, etc...). However, I won't go into detail as it strikes me that there's a simple fix that would solve multiple problems.
The main point of this bug report is that as Matthew Revell states, "Launchpad is a complex web application the interface of which does not yet fully explain how to use it." If launchpad is self-explanatory, why is there a "What is launchpad?"/"Take a tour" link? Wouldn't that be unnecessary? I would go further to say that no UI can ever truly be self-explanatory. I agree with Matthew Paul Thomas. Having a user guide is no excuse for a poor user interface. I think a balance must be struck between a great UI and a great User Guide. That's not easy to do. But making the User Guide hard to find is not going to automatically improve the UI. -- No link to help.launchpad.net from launchpad.net https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Launchpad Documentation Team, which is subscribed to Launchpad Documentation. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-doc Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-doc More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
