You appear to be ignoring the 24 hour delay - the pipeline stall on DB patches because your patch can't be deployed, and we've only deployed-for-QA strictly monotonic patches. Its not 'a few minutes work' is the difference between meeting the DB downtime and aborting for a day (or more if e,g. buildbot give grief).
