Thanks for your question. Part of what makes Launchpad interesting is that it makes it easy for anyone to contribute to a project. Common, fixed bug statuses across all projects are really important to that. With Launchpad, new users only need learn what each bug status means once. It also makes it much easier for projects to collaborate. Does Launchpad provide any way of doing that? Launchpad doesn't have the facility to turn off certain bug statuses, as that reduces the usefulness of shared, fixed bug statuses.
