Hi Matthew I defiantly think that official documentation for Launchpad is a great idea, one suggestion that may be helpful to new Ubuntu users would be an explanation of how to use the Launchpad support ticket system for their troubleshooting needs as well as how to search on the wiki for solutions to common problems. Links to this resource should be displayed more prominently in the default Ubuntu installation. As it stands the only way to find out about this is by going to "System > Help > Online Documentation" and clicking on the last link of the web page that it links to. IMHO mare emphasis should be placed on Launchpad and the forums in Ubuntu.
As for documentation catering to using Launchpad for development work a very simplified description of how to use Rosetta and Malone in the style of the "quick start guide" would be useful... The most important thing however is that they are highly visible to new users so they can easily begin using the system without having to go through great pains discovering it for themselves.
