Using the Launchpad Web Service API it is possible to search bug tasks for projects and distributions. One of the arguments you can pass searchTasks is "order_by", however the available options are undocumented as far as I can tell. I'm guessing that they are the same as in the web interface - "status", "importance", "-datecreated" for example. However, it would be great to have this confirmed and documented somewhere if it isn't already.
