I wasn't aware that there were non-edge APIs yet. That would certainly
be great to have, as it would give an escape route.

I think I would continue to use edge when there weren't long-running
issues, partly to help beta test, and partly because if a code change
causes an issue then if it lands on production it could be longer
until a fix could arrive.

Being able to switch for long running problems would be great, and I
encounter enough short-term issues that I'm not too worried about
inconsistencies during the rollout.
