You need to put a valid section name in the Section field in debian/control (probably in the first paragraph). In this case, I'd suggest "Section: admin". > gnome-disk-utility (3.28.3-0ubuntu1) bionic; urgency=medium > > * Initial release (add "Modified by Owen") As a side note, this seems like a waste of effort. Why are you packaging this from scratch when working packaging already exists in Ubuntu?
