I tried all your suggestions but the problem perists. The other Mac is a G3 with OS 8.6, and produces the same result. My original installation was custom because I didn't want GPIB and VISA. So I did Easy Install, but the result is the same. But now, I also have the Tools Palate showing up along with the Welcome to LabView window, and popping up several times when I unsuccessfully try to Open Examples. Additionally, on the G3 computer, the software initiates my internet dialup both on starting and quitting LabView!
Lastly, I disabled all but the Mac system extensions (suspecting there might be a conflict), but this did not help. Do I have a corrupted software CD? (Also shipped to me is a DIAdem CD, but this appears to be for a PC, not a Mac.)
