Kalyan,

I'll second the other replies' advice: don't try to come up with an
adapter for using the AO-10. We had built several test systems using
this board, and when ISA slots became scarce on desktop PCs, we started
buying the PCI-6713. Where we needed to support an existing test system
(which had a custom PCB with a 50-pin socket matched to the ribbon from
the AO-10), we fabricated a simple adapter cable to go from the 6713's
connector back to a 50-pin ribbon. The DAQ code needed trivial changes,
if I recall correctly, it was because the 6713 has only eight output
channels instead of ten. (Hope your setup isn't using more than eight
channels).

The ISA bus bandwidth can be a limiting factor when trying to generate
multiple-channel continuous waveforms on the AO-10, but the PCI bus (in
theory) can support the 6713 up to its limits. If you're only doing
static voltage outputs, there are other NI PCI-bus cards with multiple
DAC channels you might want to look into.

Hope this helps,

Dave
