Yes of course, you can tell you vi's to run when opened and close when stopped afterwards. To do this right click the vi's icon on the front panel or block diagram and select vi properties in the context menu. Select category window appearance in the drop down list and choose to customize your settings. Here you'll find a couple of needfull settings.
