The simpliest way is to use xcLAME command line audio converter .
Use can download it here:
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/1/5/11-1-5-6.shtml
In LabVIEW, use System Exec.vi to execute the system command
"c:\xclame -h test1.wav test1.mp3", for example.

That's all! Works fine and is very fast (1 minute of CD quality audio
converts in a couple of seconds)
