I was just helping a colleague who was having a tremendous slowdown in a data acq system. It was continuously taking 34 channels at 2 kHz and buffering about 15 seconds of data. Not a tremendous amounts but it kept running out of data and after taking some data, LV itself would take 30 seconds or so just to do a screen refresh while saving VIs etc.
He had recently changed from using 2D arrays of data to using the spiffy waveform VIs. After reinstalling the system software, LV, testing RAM etc, as far as I could tell all the poor performance was due to the waveform VIs and manipulation/displaying the data. Have others had poor performance with the waveform VIs? Has this been solved with LV 7? We discussed upgrading but like many people there was a worry that it would just introduce new problems. -Scott
