divider, advice needed, please

I thought this is the quickest way! So I ask!

I need to divide the frequency of an incoming signal programmatically.
(signal is TTL)

The incoming signal has the frequency on up to 10MHz and I need to have an
output signal of let's say 1MHZ (the division factor could be anything, variable programmatically)

I have E series card (6052 I guess!)

Anybody has an example on this, please

I have a meeting tomorrow and I guess I shall sleep at work tonight!
