sound card

Hi people, how are you? Well, I have a dubt and I would like to know
if some one can help me. I have to do a program that read a sound of
microphone and show this sinal (spectrum) in a graphic. I would like
to know what I have to do to read this signal of a sound card. Please,
help me...
