Our SCADA Tool Kit has a feature that continually monitors the computer time clock to detect any gross changes. This is done because the data compression and history logging programs were written to work with monotonic timestamps. We started to see unexpected system time advance/retard changes causing problems in the SCADA Tool Kit on our XP based installations.
The problem was caused by a new XP feature that periodically updates the system time clock automatically at scheduled times. If you open the Windows XP Time and Date Properties (right click on the computer's time display) you will see a new tab there called "Internet Time". You may adjust the time update schedule or disable updating there. I'm posting this to alert you to a potential to be a problem if you are writing any LabVIEW program that assumes monotonic timestamps.
