Georgie, Your best bet may be to stick with a version of Linux that was working previously with LabVIEW or to upgrade LabVIEW to the latest version. New versions of operating systems can introduce interesting problems for software that has not been updated to the latest version.
You may also want to try reinstalling LabVIEW on your SuSE 9.0 machine. Another thing you could try is changing your windowing engine from GNOME to Ximian or KDE or vis versa. One of those engines may be having issues creating your control and function palettes. Please post back if this fails to help resolve the issue. Craig H. National Instruments
