Alvin:
I believe the 8164B shares the same Agilent driver and instrument command
set as the 8164A. National Instruments created a LV 6.1 wrapper for the
816x driver (since Agilent only listed support for the "A" model, so does
the wrapper). The wrapper posted on the Instrument Driver Network for this
instrument does not have broken wires and has an improved interface over
the
one generated from the conversion tool.
You can download this LabVIEW 6.1 wrapper from the following site.
https://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/nidz/BBB764FA0102EBA386256DFA00633D63
I recommend checking NI's web site for both native LabVIEW plug and play
drivers as well as wrappers for other instrument drivers.
I'm not sure why you got the broken wires. Generally, if you have all the
driver files installed along with required support software (VISA), the
conversion tool creates usable wrappers. Is it possible you do not have
VISA
installed on your current system?
