I've been using USB-2COM dual port adapters - very convenient to use. USB-4COM and USB-8COM adapters are also available. You can find them all at http://www.easysync.co.uk/products.html Don't know if it will solve your problem, but at least you don't have to use more than one USB port with up to 8 devices.
