If the application software checks the validity of the serial number, which must consist of the following characters (0123456789), then changing the property may not buy you anything.
If you must pass it a numeric value, do you control the number though LV or TestStand first before passing the value to the application? If so, you could try converting the characters to their ANSI equivalent... would make a long serial number (twice as long). Then comes the next issue, is there a length limit... Changing property may not solve much... and you'd most likely need the source code. JLV
