That's an excuse, not an explanation IMO. Some columnists have publicly
apologized for taking Paula Jones lightly and finding James Carville's
characterization of her uproariously funny. When an organization like NOW
brushes off crude attacks on a woman who claims to have been sexually
abused, it is farfetched to claim it is because she has some marginal
resources. The initial supporters of Jones were an eclectic assortment of
rightwingers and a total incompetent for a lawyer - a real estate lawyer
yet. All this against the President of United States.
