Hi Ron :)
I did something in this case on purpose, I left out the races of the
accused and the victim also. I wanted to see what people were going to
say about innocence or guilt with out them having to know the racial
information because IMO the race of either of them doesn't matter. What
does matter and what is important is that a baby was killed, black or
white she was still a innocent child.
Interesting thing is most of the people I have talked to think Johnson
killed her. Some knew Johnson was white, since they are watching the
trial also, some didn't know the racial makeup and never asked me, that
wasn't important. Yet they also felt Johnson killed Jasmine.
To go along with what your saying, I don't agree, I think people from
any race can decide guilt or innocence, as they do every day in court
houses across this nation. They are looking at the facts of the case,
not the racial makeup to decide who is guilty or not. I don't think a
verdict depends on the racial makeup of a jury.
I do think some people take things to extremes though, just because we
saw one trial where race did play a part in a verdict does NOT mean that
all juries are like that, I happen to think that jury was rare and not
the norm.
