Hi Sooz:  Good to hear that you now have Court TV. We only get it for ten
hours a day, during court time, but I always have it on during the day
running as white noise :-)  The court tv web site, www.courttv.com has the
headline that the Johnson jury was hung.  I did not see that on TV.  Last
week one of the talking head's guest lawyers, most seem to be defense
attorneys, was asking if Jasmine was the first Black child in Johnson's
care, and raised the question whether race would play a role in
deliberations.  Juror #8 apparently had his mind made up when negotiations
started and the jury foreman complained to the judge at that time.  The
defense was demanding a mistrial if this juror was dismissed, therefore they
must have had reason to believe that this juror was for the defense.  The
defense was claiming all along that the Mother abused the baby and that some
of the injuries were old ( just like in the Nanny murder trial).  I think
that some redneck was convinced that the Black Mother did this and refused
to back down. I guess we will never know.  Ron
