Kathy E <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: Hi all I'm not sure if this is being discussed on the list or not, I'm way behind in email and I will be for the next couple of days, some private things I need to take care of. I as some of you know happen to love country music, and I was lucky enough to meet Tammy twice, once when I was a young teen I attended one of her concerts, and then went backstage to get her autograph, I'm not sure how my father arranged that but to say the least it was a big highlight for me since two weeks prior the doctors had finally said I was cancer free, so I knew I was going to live. It was a dream come true to finally meet a lady I had such respect for, and she showed me something that I absolutely love about country music stars, somehow she knew about my illness, (I suppose my father had something to do with that, but as a 13 year old you don't think of that). And she welcomed me with a big smile and a hug, and she treated me as if she knew me my whole life, she sat down and chatted with me, and gave me a lot of memorabilia to remember this meeting, like I would ever forget! She congratulated me on beating the cancer and we talked about school and she talked about her daughters. I felt so comfortable talking to her, it was amazing to me. The biggest surprise I had yet to come, the other lady I love in country music is Loretta Lynn, and in she walked to join us! I was in heaven here I was this no nothing little girl with two of the legends of country music, but they acted as if they had nothing better to do than to talk to me, it's something I will never forget. I'm not sure if Tammy or Loretta ever knew how much that affected me, but it did. I knew a lot about their lives and the hardships they had faced, and yet they still made it to the top of their field, endurance does pay off. And above it all they both had a lot of class to me. No matter how important they were they still took the time to meet someone like me. I was on cloud nine for days, and my poor family had to endure hearing me tell over and over what happened and me reliving every second of that talk with them. The next time I met Tammy, was at a rodeo I was at, she was performing there and she had aged quite a bit, but still to me she was a lady with class, and the sadness I saw in her face bothered me, knowing life had been so hard on her. The reason I was able to meet her this time is when I go to the rodeo's I am behind the chutes to record the rides and stuff, that is also where the entertainers go before they go up on stage, and I was able to once again say hello to Tammy at least this time I was in much better health, I told her about the first time I met her and how it affected me, but I doubt she remembered me, realistically she meets thousands of people a year. She still had the same friendly smile and class to me. I was shocked and saddened today when the news came out about Tammy, I feel as if I lost a friend, I do know I lost someone who had a lot of influence in my life and I will never forget her for that. The world of country music mourns the loss today, yet I find I can't help but feel I have lost a friend and it saddens me greatly. I will never forget Tammy, how she lived and how she held herself up, and how she was even able to keep her class when Hillary Clinton dissed her to the world. Tammy would have never done that to another woman or man, perhaps Hillary should take a lesson from her, she didn't have to step on others to become what she was, and she was a legend. Good-bye Tammy. -- Kathy E "I can only please one person a day, today is NOT your day, and tomorrow isn't looking too good for you either" http://members.delphi.com/kathylaw/ Law & Issues Mailing List http://pw1.netcom.com/~kathye/rodeo.html - Cowboy Histories http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Lobby/2990/law.htm Crime photo's Subscribe/Unsubscribe, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In the body of the message enter: subscribe/unsubscribe law-issues
