Yes. But don't forget that the installer normally install files as root. So all
files are readonly. When you copy this directory you must make the copied files
writable or change the user (chown).

Yes, download the lazarus svn is the better choice, especially as Tom is
improving the carbon widgetset all the time. And updating your local svn copy
is very easy and bandwidth friendly.
