I commited a "port" of the sprites example using cairo at https://svn.bountysource.com/luipack/trunk/cairo (demos/sprites). To use it is necessary to install cairobase and cairolcl packages found in the same repository. Be aware that the OOP cairo binding is not finished yet and some properties maybe renamed or removed.
