Can you explain, why the XDG_CONFIG_HOME makes cross-distro deployment so much easier? Lazarus can use the GetAppConfigDir when 2.2.2 is out. Then the IDE should check if there is an old config directory and no new, then ask the user if the old config dir should be moved.
