During the Embarcadero CodeRage sessions this week I took a look at the IOUtils unit introduced in Delphi 2010. I expect developers to start using it as they tart to use Delphi 2010 more and more. It would be a big advantage to have an FPC version of this unit.
I have no idea how other Delphi-compatible functionality was developed but I expect the right thing to do is obtain the interface for this unit and have the students re-implement the functionality using FPC.
