Hi Lazarus users, developers and all, This is a fairly minor bug report (email to the Lazarus discussion list) about the appearance of the compiler status window -- which shows on the screen (optionally) when compiling a project. It *should* be (hopefully) fairly trivial to correct these problems (see below) -- however, someone needs to point it out and discuss it first. ;-))) [ I'm not aware whether or not this has been discussed here previously. ]
Please refer to the 2 x attachments which are cropped screenshots of
my Linux Mandriva 2010.0 system running Lazarus 0.9.28.2 beta,
2009-12-03, FPC 2.2.4, SVN 22279, i386-linux-gtk 2 (beta).
Attachments are:
(a) Screenshot_lazarus_compiling_window_normal_text_size.png (size 15K)
(b) screenshot_lazarus_compiling_window_large_text_size.png (size 21K)
File (a) shows a normal compiler status window (optionally displayed)
with screen text (display fonts) set to 'normal' size. I am pretty
*happy* with the appearance of this. However, I would prefer that when
the window is resized then closed -- on next compilation I would like
the window to open at the SAME SIZE as previously resized to. This is
because I often want to make the window wider to display the
filename(s) with path UNCROPPED.
File (b) shows a normal compiler status window (optionally displayed)
with screen text (display fonts) set to 'large' size. { e.g. this is
the equivalent of setting display to Large Fonts on a Micro$oft
Windows system -- however, in this case I'm using a Linux Mandriva
2010.0 desktop system }.
The main problem is with case (b). e.g. Screen text set to large
(fonts) size. Note: View file (b) [ it's just a PNG graphic ] to see
what I'm talking about. Note that with the 'Lines' counter and the
Hints, Notes, Warnings and Errors counters ... the text in the frames
all has the bottom of the text cropped and not visible. Also the
Warnings count (shown as a green zero) overlaps the 'Warnings:' text
label. Resizing this windows DOES NOT FIX THESE PROBLEMS!
In both cases: (a) & (b) I would like Lazarus to remember the size of
this window; such that after it is closed and another compilation is
done and the window is again displayed that the window be display at
the LAST SIZE IT WAS RESIZED TO.
I look forward to feedback about this. ;-) Also, it'd like to hear
from M$ Windows and Mac (etc) users to know whether you have this
problem also. As I'm not a Windows or Mac user, so I have no way of
knowing how Lazarus displays on your systems. ;-)
