Last time (some months ago) when I tried to run Lazarus IDE via a

GTK v1 and v2 both looking OK now over X, although I usually use VNC for
other reasons. I've checked x86, SPARC and PowerPC (Mac), in all cases
running Linux.
There are peculiarities in control spacing between VNC and X (notebook
tab height, spacing between items in a RadioGroup etc.) which I don't
think are Lazarus's problem but instead are caused by VNC not reporting
dpi accurately. If I can characterise this better I'll raise it in a
separate thread, or a bug report if I'm really confident of my facts.
bottom of the list rather than junking it completely? That way it could
degrade gracefully but would still be visible to anybody who wanted it, and
I though it is already doing this? :)
Everybody makes the point that it's degrading and deprecated, but (as of
0.28.3) it still appears at the top of the list without a health
warning, while v2 is marked beta. I get the impression that's not the
message that the developers are trying to send to the user community :-)
