In my case, it seems that it was being used, and hence the described
behavior.
Is it OK to delete the config files in order to 'restore' the default
settings? If yes, then an error is occurring.
Finally, the issue of the object inspector disappearing is still there.
Mine are stored in the parent of the Lazarus folder, ie:
~/Programs/Lazarus/../
I deleted them once and launched the IDE. I got an error. On the 2nd
launch, all seemed to be OK.
