Ctrl+C works inside the IDE editor while working on Service Apps.  Can
you elaborate?

Start IDE in Terminal. Ctrl-C should kill it.

We should probably change the lazdaemon unit so this happens in
  Application.Initialize
Then the IDE will not be bothered by it.

Any other issues preventing this inclusion by default ?
