Hi,
Can one translate the component palette tabs? I heard that German is
the most up-to-date translation, and even so the words 'Standard',
'Additional', 'Common Controls' appear in the component palette when I
switch the IDE to German language.
Is this an oversight in the IDE resource string (not existing resource
strings), or does the translated languages simply not bother with the
component palette?
It is not an oversight, it is more that a lot of such captions won't be
translated anyway, e.g. "SynEdit", "LazControls", "fpWeb", "SQLdb".
I think that it is better to keep palette not translated at all, than to
have a (hard to read and navigate) mix of languages.
For the sake of completeness (not that I'm suggesting this as a
solution): Delphi translates all tabs of components that belong to the
IDE (e.g. Standard, Dialogs, Additional etc.), but not those of 3rd
Party components (e.g. I can see "Indy Misc" in my component palette). I
don't know whether you can somehow trigger a translation of your own tab
from your design time package...
Regards,
Sven
