I'm using Thunderbird 5.0 - anything later is just too buggy for me for various reasons. Anyway, attached is an example of what I see. I've set Thunderbird to prefer displaying plain text if a multi-part HTML message is found, but I always see the attachment icon and link in the bottom of the message window.
