I can confirm, that in Delphi 5 default is poDesigned. So it really is
for Delphi compatibility
I currently have Delphi 7 and XE3, and in both of these the default is
poDefaultPosOnly, as I indicated in my initial message, so it looks as
though though the default changed in Delphi around version 6. Should the
LCL default be changed to reflect this? (I have certainly been caught
out by forms left at poDesigned, and it is an easy mistake to make, and
may only be obvious when you run the program away from the development
machine.)
